Photography
Digital photography of works of art in the collection is encouraged as long as the equipment does not endanger the safety of the artworks or the public. Flash equipment, special lights, and photography of works on loan from other institutions or private collections are not permitted. Requests and scheduling of wedding/special photographs on Museum grounds should be coordinated through the Events Manager, 315-797-0000 ext. 2138.
Sketching and Copying
Sketching with pencil is permitted in all galleries of the Museum except in special exhibitions. The use of ink, fountain pen, and watercolor is not permitted.
Accessories
Strollers are allowed in Museum galleries. Backpacks and large bags, other than purses, are not permitted in Museum galleries. Lockers are available at the Reception desk on the ground floor level. Questions about the Museum's accessories policy should be addressed to the Museum's security office at 315-797-0000 ext. 2175.
Touching
Touching or handling a work of art is not permitted in Museum galleries. Please help us protect the artwork by not standing too close to the surface of a work on display.
Food or Drinks
Chewing gum, food, or drinks are not allowed in Museum galleries. Food and drink may only be consumed in the Root Court during authorized Munson events and may not be taken into Museum galleries.
Pets
Registered, certified Service Animals are allowed in Museum galleries. Proof of registration or certification must be provided upon entry or if questioned within the gallery. No other animals are allowed within the Museum of Art.
