Painting for Beginners

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to paint but don’t know where to start, this class is for you. Through hands-on instruction, students build a solid painting foundation, from organizing a palette to the final brush stroke. Information is given from the ground up and nothing is taken for granted. “Beginning Painting” guides individuals through a variety of basic exercises and fun projects opening a door to the joy of painting. Required materials list provided.

Meet your instructor, Chad!

CHAD SMITH holds a BA in drawing and painting and MFA in painting from the Academy of Art University. He is an instructor at Pratt Munson College of Art and Design, Mohawk Valley Community College as well as teaching workshops and private students. Chad has enjoyed multiple solo and group exhibitions and has New York representation in Saratoga, Lake Placid, and Old Forge.
