Fashion Sewing for Beginners

Fashion for the absolute beginner! Discover all the basics of operating a sewing machine, how to read a paper pattern, and to properly prepare and cut fabric. Learn basic construction techniques for garments such as hem finishes, seam finishes, darts, gathers, plackets, collars, and more. Sewing machines are available for use in the studio during class. Required materials list provided.

Meet your instructor, Niki!
She/Her

NIKI ENGLISH is the Director of Design at an Austin-based product development company. Previously, she had been working in the NYC fashion industry for over 10 years. She has worked for brands including Jessica Simpson, Vivienne Tam, and Ann Taylor as well as creating her own designs and accessories. Niki received a BS in Apparel Design from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.  nenglish@munson.art
