Fashion Pattern Making 101

Get your designs ready to wear! Learn the art of flat pattern drafting for apparel. Students will walk away with basic pattern concepts such as flat pattern manipulation, draping, adding ease, methods for adding volume, translating garment measurements into patterns, and preparing patterns for sewing will be taught. Sewing machines are available for use in the studio during class. Prerequisites: Fashion Sewing for Beginners class or previous sewing experience is suggested. Required materials list provided.

Meet your instructor, Niki!
She/Her

NIKI ENGLISH is the Director of Design at an Austin-based product development company. Previously, she had been working in the NYC fashion industry for over 10 years. She has worked for brands including Jessica Simpson, Vivienne Tam, and Ann Taylor as well as creating her own designs and accessories. Niki received a BS in Apparel Design from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.   nenglish@munson.art
