VISIBLE STUDIO | Munson Museum Master Copies
With Yulia Levkovich | Intermediate | 18+
This class celebrates intensive technical study, problem solving, and dialogue with artists and artworks of the past. It builds on a long-standing tradition of working from close observation of a masterpiece in a museum’s permanent collection. Through this tradition of close observation of a masterpiece, artists receive personalized instruction in oils and the unique opportunity to utilize artworks from the Munson Museum of Art collection. Some previous knowledge of oils is required and beneficial for the class.
The first two classes take place in the Studio Building before moving to the museum galleries. All paintings are 19th century masterworks from the Munson collection. A materials list is provided.

Location: First two classes held in the Studio Building at 503 William Street, Room 340. All following classes are held in Munson's Museum of Art Galleries
+ CLASS NOTE: Not all works on display will be available for copy and all selections are reviewed by museum staff for approval. Students must bring in and out all materials and artwork. Easels and drop cloths will be set up and taken down by Munson staff.

YULIA LEVKOVICH is an award-winning representational painter. She trained at the Academy of Realist Art, received her BFA from OCAD University, Toronto, and her MFA from the New York Academy of Art, Manhattan.
