Intro to Jewelry Making

Ages 15+ | Beginners | With Luke Towne

In this summer course, students learn the fundamentals of jewelry making, including techniques such as sawing, piercing, texturing, riveting, soldering, and bezel-setting cabochon stones. It is designed for first-time and curious students who want to explore the world of jewelry making and create their own unique pieces. Each session consists of a combination of demonstrations, hands-on practice, and individualized feedback from the instructor. In addition to technical skills, students will also begin to discuss design principles and how to translate their ideas into wearable art.

This course is suitable for both adults and teens 15 and older who are interested in exploring the art of jewelry making. No previous experience is necessary. Returning students may work on personal projects in the studio.

+ CLASS NOTE: As this course involves use of hammers, anvils, torches/soldering equipment, students must wear closed toed shoes, no loose clothing and long hair tied back to each class.
