Munson, located in Utica, NY, is a nationally prominent fine arts center serving diverse audiences through a renowned Museum of Art, the Pratt Munson College of Art and Design, a live performing arts season, and year-round community arts classes. The Institute was founded in 1919 and annually hosts some 600 events where patrons enjoy exhibitions, performances, art classes, and family-oriented activities.

The Museum of Art is one of the nation’s most significant mid-sized art museums, with a top collection of American art. Munson offers more than 100 community art classes and workshops throughout the year, taught by working artists in studios shared by Pratt Munson College of Art and Design

This Munson program offers students the option of fulfilling their first two years of a BFA in Utica before transitioning to the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn to complete their degree. Live events at Munson include a series of intimate concerts by national acts, a weekly film series, live streaming of the Metropolitan Opera, and the popular summer Arts Festival. Munson is an exceptional convergence of many areas of creative expression that is both a community asset in the Mohawk Valley and an art destination located in the heart of New York with easy travel to Syracuse, Albany, and just a few hours from New York City, Boston, and Montreal.
